Tips for a good picture:
Simplicity is a must
Solid colors are the best. Large, bold patters, and bright colors should be avoided because they draw attention from the face
Dark colors tend to minimize body size ; light colors tend to emphasize body size
Long sleeved dresses and shirts are recommended. They draw attention away from the arms and focus it on the face. Short sleeves are acceptable for infants and small children
Coordinate your outfit from head to toe, selecting appropriate shoes and stockings, for a full length pose.
Necklines are very important:
- for short neck and round face will be important to have a scoop or V neck
- if your neck is long and your face is slender, a turtle neck garment is more flattering.
Dress everyone in the same style of clothing. Do not mix casual and formal outfit
Keep the tonal range of clothing within the entire group. Do not mix light and dark tones
White or light pastel clothing, shoes, stocking, pants, or dresses look best in portraits taken against a white or light background
To assure a successful portrait, it is the best to bring several additional clothing choices.
If you want to have unique pictures, please feel free to bring instruments, pets, friends, hobbies, or other items. We love variety! We can work with larger objects like: boats, sports cars, planes, motorcycles, etc. If you have other ideas, please let us know.
We can retouch the pictures but we cannot retouch the personality that you will reflect in the picture. We will do everything to have the best pictures, but you are in control of some things: hairstyle, nail polish, sunburn, hair face. If you have beard or mustache make sure it’s neatly trimmed… a fresh shave is a must! Avoid new cuts or hairstyle
If you wear glasses, please consider either having the lens removed (talk with your optometrist) or leaving them off for your portrait. Removing glare adds cost to your portrait order.
It’s very important to wear makeup. If you cannot do it, we can provide a professional makeup for only $30.00
Please, don’t schedule any other activities close to your photo session. We like to create a relaxing atmosphere and we don’t like to rush during the session. Stress will reflect in your pictures.
